Winner of the Manchester Chorale 40th Anniversary Composition Competition
Our winner is Jack White from Cardiff with his original and upbeat work When Voices Rise.
A freelance composer, Jack wrote his own text, which is both joyful and celebratory, and neatly buys in to the symbol of the worker bee closely associated with the City of Manchester.
Amongst others, Jack has written for the BBC Symphony Orchestra and former BBC Young Musician of the Year, trombonist Peter Moore, one of Britain’s outstanding young instrumentalists.
