A Concert so unique we are presenting it twice!
A highlight of The Manchester Chorale’s 40th Anniversary Year, we are singing Mass in Blue composed by Will Todd in 2003 , featuring Soprano soloist Elizabeth Woods and accompanied by a Jazz Quartet.
This modern setting of the Mass is influenced strongly by Will’s love of jazz (he is an accomplished jazz pianist himself) and features lively combinations of gospel, blues and swing music styles which will create an uplifting and entertaining experience.
The concerts at St. Margaret’s Prestwich on March 14th and Didsbury Baptist Church on March 28th also feature folksongs of the British Isles and beyond, including some familiar such as Shenandoah, and She moved through the fair, three Vaughan Williams arrangements of English folk songs, the fresh and boisterous Byker Hill from the North East, a lovely arrangement of Ar hyd y nos by Alan Vincent, and the humorous The frog and the crow, from Daryl Runswick.
These concerts are a chance to hear Manchester Chorale at its very best. Booking details are on the posters.
