Our 40th season kicks off – in Liverpool!
The first concert, Hail Gladdening Light, in the Manchester Chorale’s 40th season was held in Liverpool’s Metropolitan Cathedral. The very appreciative audience didn’t quite fill (!) the 2300 capacity, but what do you expect when Liverpool are playing at home. The lay clerk David, who greeted us and opened the right doors for us, said we sang an excellent concert. He knew the best place to listen to us – the reverberation was enormous and went on for seconds after our last notes. And what a fantastic cathedral. The luminosity created by the stained-glass windows had a marked similarity to a certain Barcelona church (that still isn't finished).
