Singing and Cocktails

Like it says somewhere in this website, we do all sorts of stuff. Big stuff at The Bridgewater Hall, little stuff in small hotels like The Manchester Hilton. October 15th saw a small but perfectly formed subset of The Manchester Chorale performing for the delegates of the 2014 Hoteliers Conference. We started with Is You Is or Is You Ain’t My Baby and did a few more classics from the 20s and 30s. The noise level from the delegates rose as they networked but that was ok – we just sang louder! It was quite difficult hearing Dave (our MD for the night) giving us the chord for the final song.

Afterwards, we were led out to a quieter area with – yes you guessed – free Daiquiri cocktails. What to do, indeed. I worked out that if every choir member had a couple of cocktails, then we got more than the choir’s fee in free drinks. Happy days.
